Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Developer to design and document the complete end-to-end technical architecture for new and existing Shopify (primarily Shopify Plus) stores. In this role, you will be responsible for storefront design (headless or theme-based), backend services, integration strategies, and security. You will act as a key technical expert evaluating modern commerce patterns and guiding architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy: Design and document end-to-end technical architectures, evaluate modern commerce patterns (headless, composable commerce), and lead decisions on build vs. buy vs. extend within the Shopify ecosystem.

Storefront Development: Build and maintain complex custom themes and storefronts using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript or other JS frameworks like React.

App & Feature Integration: Integrate, build, and maintain custom Shopify applications (private or public). Implement advanced functionality using Shopify Functions, webhooks, and Checkout Extensibility.

Optimization: Customize checkout, cart, and product flows for enhanced analytics and conversion optimization.

System Integrations: Lead and manage integrations with external ERP systems, PIM systems, and payment gateways.

Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, stakeholders, and designers to implement changes and enhancements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of experience in e-commerce solution architecture, technical consulting, or an equivalent senior technical role, including at least 3 years of dedicated Shopify experience.

Shopify Expertise: Proven expertise with the Shopify platform (especially Shopify Plus), its admin features, Liquid templating, and the app ecosystem.

Headless Commerce: Proven expertise with headless Shopify architectures, including Hydrogen/Oxygen implementations.

Customization: Experience developing custom Shopify apps, utilizing Shopify Functions, and implementing Checkout UI extensions for advanced customizations.

Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Shopify's APIs (REST and GraphQL) and a solid understanding of modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React/Next.js.

Integrations: Experience in architecting and implementing integrations with major enterprise back-office systems (ERP, OMS, PIM).

Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, creativity, and a systematic, logical approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

Nice-to-Haves: Shopify Certification or other relevant e-commerce platform certifications, prior experience in re-platforming from legacy systems, and familiarity with back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Ruby).

What Is Offered

Compensation: Monthly compensation up to $6,500 USD.
Contract Type: B2B contract via Optiveum.
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days working from the office located in the center of Warsaw, 2 days working from home).
