Associate Data Engineer - Junior
Location: Remote - from Poland
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and data-driven applications.
This role is ideal for a professional looking to apply technical expertise, analytical skills, and collaboration to resolve data challenges within an innovative and fast-paced environment. The Associate Data Engineer will work within established procedures and guidelines to execute daily tasks, analyze data, and contribute to ongoing projects, all while continually learning and growing within the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines to facilitate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Apply learned techniques to solve moderately complex data-related issues, escalating more complex problems to senior team members as needed.
- Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, and other teams to ensure efficient integration of data systems.
- Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation with oversight to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor data pipelines and contribute to identifying areas for performance improvements, with guidance from senior engineers.
- Identify and resolve routine data issues, escalating larger problems or anomalies for further investigation.
- Assist in creating basic reports, dashboards, and other data visualization tools, following predefined templates and standards.
- Contribute to ongoing data quality investigations, learning how to resolve issues that may affect accuracy or performance.
- Support the implementation of data security protocols, ensuring compliance with internal standards and practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to discussions on best practices for data engineering.
- Assist in documenting processes, workflows, and data systems to ensure internal team knowledge is shared.
- Perform other duties and activities as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role, ideally in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Snowflake.
- Experience with data pipeline tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Apache Airflow, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, or Kafka.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
