Java Application Architect

Role description

Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will play the following roles and take on the below responsibilities.

As application consultant, engage with clients to:

• Conduct a TCO/ROI study to come up with the value proposition for application modernization,
• Define strategies for cloud adoption of key business applications (focusing on the mapping of business requirements to IT capabilities and align the same),
• Define the approach and plan for application modernization,
  
• Provide architectural leadership to Solution Architects to deliver thoughtful IT solutions to the business.

As Lead Architect for project delivery:

• Engage with clients to design applications based on business requirements covering Applications, Data, Cloud Technology & Application Authentication & Authorization,
• Performing quality review of project deliverables. Lead work sessions and client discussion,
  
• Spearheading the complete Solution Architecture, Digital Transformation, Cloud Modernization & Architecture, Software Development and Performance Tuning,
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, information security, application & infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual, and cost-effective application designs by using microservices patterns and best practices,
• Design the migration and modernization strategy, transitional process necessary for application to be onboarded on cloud-based architecture that includes APIs, microservices and containers,
• Offering and capability development,
• Create application migration and modernization offerings based on market demand and develop delivery capabilities for its execution,
• Define reference architecture for new offerings and provide key differentiator inputs to offering teams in terms of new technology adoption in application area.

Key competences

• Should have end to end working experience in application development across cloud native environments,
• Good understanding and experience of cloud native application design principles (like micro-services, stateless application meant for cloud, containers, 12 factor app principles etc.),
• Familiarity with tools such as New Relic, Splunk,
• Must have executed large app modernization and cloud native architecting programs (at least 2 programs),

• Tech Stack: Java, Java Servlet, Java JSP, JEE API, 12 Factor Application Design, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Data Package Manager – Maven / Gradle, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/Google/IBM),
• Experience in deployment of applications to various middle ware components, 
• Must have exp in DevOps framework.
